Grab a jar, a vase or any container and a pad of paper – or even just scraps of paper – it does not matter! Keep a pen nearby too.
Every time something good happens in your life write it down and put it in the jar. I also suggest putting that date on the paper – so many good things happen in a year, and it’s nice to remember when it happened. A “good” thing can be anything that is good to you! I do the jar for my family – since my kids are grown and living on their own, I like to ask them something good that has happened and I write it down. The jar slowly fills throughout the year.
The last day of the year that we are all together, we read the good things jar. We just pass the jar around the family and each person grabs slip of paper and reads it out loud. I guess if the time comes that we can’t all be together – we will facetime for the reading – its so important to have everyone there.
Two years ago, we added predictions for the year. It was fun to read the predictions at the end of the year to see what did or did not come true!
It’s simply amazing to read all the good things that happen in a year. It’s especially incredible after a year that was a very tough one.
It simple and easy to do – you can catch up on it if you’ve forgotten for a while too! Its good for the soul to remember the good thing that happen and praise God for his goodness!
