If you are fine motor challenged like I am, there are other ways you can decorate your cookies instead of using the royal icing to make them look nice.
My friend Joyce brought me these cookies when my youngest child was born. She used pillsbury peanut butter cookie mix and Meijer brand candy quick. How easy is that?
I make them like that quite often, but recently I decided I wanted to make the peanut butter cookies from scratch. I pulled out a very old recipe that I got in 6th grade from a friend, Susan Kirkpatrick. It was for peanut blossoms, but the cookie part was so good, I thought I try that recipe for my cut outs. It worked perfectly. I chilled the dough for 30 min before cutting out and kept the extra dough in the fridge between batches. When the cookies cool, you just dip in chocolate. I always decorate with M&Ms.
I was asked to make cookies for an MSU graduation party, so these are a graduation cap cut out and decorated with green and white M&Ms. Party City carries M&Ms in all colors or you can order them on line.
It’s a fun easy cookie and everyones favorite! Who doesn’t love peanut butter and chocolate? Enjoy!
